Behind the Scenes 2024–25 Season
It’s 90 degrees in the shade (i.e. summer), the Fourth is behind us, and I just sang in my first Summer Sing with the West Village Chorale (Carmina Burana at Judson Memorial Church on the campus of NYU, my alma mater). Steve has already started interviewing conductors who will be on the podium with the San Francisco Symphony this fall, but I’m still reliving some of the performance highlights of May and June, like Beethoven’s Ninth with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Balanchine’s Vienna Waltzes at the New York City Ballet, Beyoncé at MetLife Stadium, Audra McDonald in Gypsy, and Cole Escola’s Tony-winning tour de force Oh, Mary!
We’re spoiled living in New York, within walking distance of Broadway and Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and Juilliard. Excellence is never far away. We’re surrounded by great art—for pleasure and business.
re:Write has been writing stories and editing copy for the top American performing arts organizations for well over a decade. Our partnerships this past season ranged from longtime clients the San Francisco Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra to newcomers (new to us, that is) like the Mann Center and Cal Performances. Our work includes artist interviews, donor profiles, newsletters, press releases, website content, all forms of marketing materials, and special projects.
My lifelong love of the arts became vocation in 2001 when I transitioned from a career in television news into communications and media relations at the about-to-open Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (now Ensemble Arts) in Philadelphia. That’s where I learned all about the needs and challenges specific to marketing, public relations, and development departments within arts organizations. Since Steve—another journalist and ardent music lover—and I founded re:Write in 2012, we’ve had the privilege of working with some of the nation’s most prestigious arts organizations—Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Minnesota Orchestra, to name a few—as well as numerous independent artists.

The arts make up just part of our business. Our clients include other nonprofits, higher education, and small businesses, and we’re always looking to add to our list. With our decades of journalism experience—starting well before the advent of AI—we bring clarity, accuracy, and 100% original storytelling to every assignment. We also work fast and have great respect for deadlines.
If you’re looking for writing help, get in touch! We’re around, taking in the summer offerings like Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club, our friend Cindy Firing‘s cabaret debut at Birdland, and the Wailers at the Ocean City Music Pier. We’re looking forward to the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park returning to Central Park in just a few weeks. Opening nights for the 2025–26 season are on the horizon…but not here just yet.

Happy Summer!
